Worth the extra cost if you have pets

This works great, especially around pets. If it's windy and the ice or snow is very solid, you may need to push the pellets down slightly so they don't move after applying the ice melt. But I've used it a number of times in areas where the dogs run around and they don't get it on their paws and they have no interest in trying to lick it, like they do with regular salt.

It worked like a charm after the big snowfall. I was pleasantly surprised. It is more expensive than rock salt but doesn’t damage the concrete drive or sidewalk. That is important to me.

i try my best to keep the environment safe. In a perfect universe we'd not need ice melt. But since I do I researched selections available, compared safety to pets & environment as well as costs. This has become my go to choice for two Colorado winters now.
