best choice for the price and safe usage

i try my best to keep the environment safe. In a perfect universe we'd not need ice melt. But since I do I researched selections available, compared safety to pets & environment as well as costs. This has become my go to choice for two Colorado winters now.

Works as advertised

It worked like a charm after the big snowfall. I was pleasantly surprised. It is more expensive than rock salt but doesn’t damage the concrete drive or sidewalk. That is important to me.

Ice melt

It is safe for pets and helps melt ice and snow to make removal easier.

did not work at all.

My driveway and sidewalk were covered with a thin layer of crystallized ice. I didn't want the mail person or delivery people to slip on this so I put an extra amount of this deicer down. I'm sorry to say it did absolutely nothing! Eventually, the ice melted from the sun. I definitely will not be buying this product again.

Good ice melt.

Works well on my sidewalk and driveway.

We wanted a salt that was safe for dogs to walk on. We have lots of dog walkers in out neighborhood. Its important that they can worry free.

solid blocks of salt

Opened one bag and spread it over my driveway. Was fine. The salt is in little round beads and spreads easily. Opened second bag. It was solid block. Would not even break up with sledge hammer. Third bag was half beads and half solid block. I've had this before. Will never buy it at Lowes again.

Not truly safer for paws ice melt

This product laims it's " safer for paws" Its more expensive than other produc5s and the bag is smaller. The walkway was icy, so i scattered some on it, then took the small dog out. He started lifting his paws and whining. I turned around and brought him back un the house, and lityle white pelkets were stuck to his paw fur between his toes. I had to take warm soap water and douse his paws in it. Not happy with thiz " safer' product.

not safe

we have 2 dogs. I put this down on the walkway leading to the driveway for the pups & they hunker down whining. had to pick them up & Carrier them back in. go out the back door that hasn't been cleaned or treated & there both fine like they want to play. Will be clearing the treated part off today.

MgCl is the best ice melt hands down.

I use MgCl ice melt for all my ice melt needs. It goes much further than the cheaper stuff (NaCl, CaCl, etc) AND it's easy on my sandstone and other masonry. Plus it works to MUCH lower temps. Outstanding product.
