flimsy materials, no screws, bad directions
Would Not RecommendI have bought similar styles elsewhere and they came with screws. Lucky that this fit ok into the opening for the old one, I don't even see where the screws (SOLD SEPARATELY, according to directions) would go, and the damper lever is terrible - one of them barely worked, but I figured once it's open I'll never close it, still it had me eying the old one wondering if I could clean up and put back.... but not worth the trouble. I would try a different brand, as I know there are better ones out the...

Perfect for what I needed. Replaced old diffusers from the 1950's that were covered in old paint and rust. Only thing, I wish they came with screws to install.

Metal is thin, but it works fine
Would RecommendThe metal construction is fine, and I used it to replace a much older and rusty 18" (previous homeowners likely bought huge vents for 12" openings) vent. It's a slimmer profile than the vent it replaced, which is nice because it keeps it out of toe-smacking way. It doesn't have any pre-drilled holes to allow you to affix it to the wall, only 2 holes where you anchor it to the floor. Just be careful when dismantling it for installation and it'll be fine. Would Not RecommendThe metal used is too thin. It's very easy to accidentally bend it out of shape when working with it, and once that happens, there is no straightening it. They should spend a few more pennies and make a product that performs much better.
