Would RecommendThis union was used in a recent project to replace a 1/2" water line feeding a 50-gal water heater with a 1" PVC line. The heater was located in a small 150-year old farm cellar where alignment was difficult. Adding this union on a vertical section of tubing permitted easy adjustment and connection of the new PVC without re-positioning of the water heater.
Easy fix
Broken pipes or new installation are very easy and cost effective with this union
Completing the job
Would RecommendA quick freeze caused a water line to break. The break was at a tee intersection and the repair could only be made with the Homewerks Worldwide 1in PVC Schedule 40 union. I'm sure glad Lowe's carry's Homewerks Worldwide selection of PVC parts and fittings.
PVC Union
Would RecommendExcellent for using on sprinkler Anti-Siphon Valves. When they go bad just unscrew the unions remove the pipes, screw them into the new valve and in 10 minutes the new Anti-Siphon valve is installed with no gluing or cutting of pipes! Great for fountain pumps too!
Irrigation/Sprinkler System Main Water Line Repair
Would RecommendThis union was the perfect answer for repairing a broken main water supply line to the irrigation system valves. Originally the installer cut and glued all of the fittings in the supply line and in order to make a repair it was necessary to cut the line which was a waste. I used one of these unions to allow the pipe to be separated at the union for any future repairs.
PVC Union
Would RecommendThis PVC union functions as designed. You tighten it with your hand and it does not leak. No tools needed.
Simple, worked great, easy as pie to install, leakfree. This is a good product!
Good product -- hard to find in store shelves
Would RecommendThe product is fine, but was very hard to locate among a jumble of various parts boxes, many of which contained other than their intended products
why unions
Would RecommendI spent roughly four decades as an oilfield roustabout and six working around my homes, (Sometimes dealing with up to 10,000 PSI and more at work with hazardous materials--that is in itself a definition of master plumber). In both areas I have learned that maintenance and alterations come about eventually and properly placed unions reduce the mess and aggravations when they do. A common saying is you can't have too many unions which, I mostly agree with. These pvc unions with that O-ring between...
Great Purchase
Would RecommendThese union sockets are excellent for use in assembling the sprinkler lines attached to your valve system. They make repair much much easier when leaks develop in a confined space. They have definitely been a lifesaver for me by allowing me to easily repair a specific valve assembly without rebuilding my entire valve infrastructure Note: They can leak if not aligned correctly during installation, but this can be corrected and they are well worth using in the long run.
Worked as advertised
Would RecommendWorked on installing a new water softner which required rerouting pvc pipe lines. The primer and glue worked great and set up very quickly but not so much to cut your time to put the parts together. Recommend rubber gloves or you get the purple primer and glue all over your hands. Put in the Union connection for a quick disconnect to make future changes even easier. The adapter and elbows also were a piece of cake to put in. Just remember to add 3/4" to your measurements because the that is how ...
