This union was used in the pressure supply pipe from a pool pump to the filter. It handles 15psi without a problem or leak.

This style union worked perfectly for my project. We are on a well and need to periodically service our plumbing lines, etc. . . Having the ability to disconnect and connect in, various arrangements based on need it priceless. Further, the unions themselves are sturdy, the gaskets seal well, I have nothing negative to report in their construction, or quality.

Threads vary

I bought this for hooking up my pool pump. The old pump was held in by a couple of unions, and I figured i would just replace the two short sections of pipe between the pump and the unions, that way it would hook up easily to the existing pipes. Well… the threads on the union rings were way different than the ones on the old unions, so that plan didn’t work out. Guess they’re from different manufacturers? Anyway, the product here is fine, they worked great. Just if you’re planning to match them ...

one really big flaw

This union has a big flaw. There is an O ring that sits in a shallow groove that does not hold the O ring well. Because the O ring does not fit and hence stay in the groove, it falls out. Things like this are used in the dirt and mud. So when the O ring falls out, you may not notice and even then you may not find it again. I wish the bozos that design these thing would just make a groove that fits the O ring so that it is held in place and does not fall out.

This is a PVC union. It works, plain and simple. But the relentless barrage of emails asking me to review this product over the past two weeks? Ridiculous. I didn’t buy this expecting it to change my life or anything. It wasn’t something I lost sleep over while researching where or when to get it. Lowe’s had it in stock, so I picked it up. It’s not like I’m buying a major appliance, new flooring, or siding—those are the kinds of things I’d really weigh price, quality, install ease, and ROI for. ...
