Ratings & Reviews for Project Source 3/4-in 3 -Blade Retractable Utility Knife with On Tool Blade Storage
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers appreciate this utility knife's affordability and included blades, with many reporting it cuts effectively for basic tasks like boxes, vinyl, and drywall. However, a substantial portion struggle significantly with blade installation and the screw mechanism, describing it as impossible to unscrew or reassemble, with some experiencing retraction failures. While budget-conscious users accept the trade-offs and call it good value, durability concerns and outdated design frustrate others who feel they should have invested in a higher-end model. Overall, opinions split between those satisfied with basic performance at low cost and those disappointed by mechanical reliability.

Would Not RecommendAfter I finally got the cardboard packaging out the thing would not go back together. Ended up throwing it in the trash.

Piece of Junk! Do Not Buy. Buy a better one!
Would Not RecommendDO NOT BUY THIS! Not recommended. I opened the screw, but I could not get the blade to fit properly, let alone close the item with the blade in place. This utility knife is poor quality and a piece of junk! I will be returning this to the store and buying a better utility knife! If I could give this a negative rating, I would!
Difficult to align and put together.
Would Not RecommendVery difficult to put together. I am returning them

Junk: cannot even get the screw to budge
Would Not RecommendI am not an expert contractor or anything, but I am having a ridiculous time getting the packaging off and opening the tool to be able to use this for the first time. The screw to open it is seized and now the slots have stripped (seriously I am no idiot) and so without more effort and time investment and cursing I cannot even get out the blade for the first time. I should have just bought the more expensive one. This was not supposed to make my day harder, but to simplify it. Buy a different on...

So you need to unscrew it and place the blade. I bought another that it was already in place just know that before you buy. Also it has store for the other two blades which is nice but it doesn’t easily move like other ones but you get what you pay for. If you pay a little more you get a can get a better one.
