Heavy duty rack
Purchased this rack on sale for $99.00. Very heavy due to the particle board shelves. There are cheaper racks that come with press board, basically compressed cardboard, you can press down on the boards when installed and see the flex. With the 1/4" particle board shelves with this unit, you can actually store heavier bins without the board flexing. If you want to reinforce the shelves, just cut your own from plywood. I can't believe the number of people who think that the plastic mounting piece...

The weight rating is an absolute lie, but what can you expect? I would say that each shelf could hold 50lbs without warping. But if you buy these to load engine blocks on them. Decent shelves if you modify them
Would Not RecommendThe basic unit is well built except for the height extensions. I have seen several reviews where the shelves collapsed. There are two 3 foot sections that stack on top of each other. They are connected by a nylon bracket. I could see that this was a disaster waiting to happen. I made some metal brackets to join the two sections and they should be quite stable now. Don't plan on the nylon connectors lasting for long. It is a very poor design. A sturdy unit at a good price.
Would RecommendVery sturdy. It was a bit challenging to understand how to apply and use the plastic parts that help joint the post of the top section to the bottom section. It just too rereading the directions, looking at the illustrations more closely and patience. I’m still very happy with the end result.
