ridiculous design

The 'opening' is way to small for a standard lamp cord, and it even appears like it would cut into the insulation if I screwed it all the way down. Must have been designed by an electrical school dropout.

This ungrounded plug worked as expected but getting it wired was something of a challenge. The problem I had was in misjudging the size of the hole in the plug. It is designed for flat cords that are very thin. My wife's hair dryer cord was flat but too thick to allow the two halves of the plug to go back together. I'm sure it works well with the proper size cord!

I like this item instead of polarized plug because the polarized is not suitable with all kinds of wall plug adapter. Therefore, I returned the polarized plug at local store. However, purchasers need to follow the direction of connecting wires included.
