Would RecommendIt’s midnight black is good. When it is applied it is very dark, but then it dries to the same color as the older chips we’ve laid down which is still a nice Black.

Don't do pay extra for Preen Mulch
Would Not RecommendThe Preen Black Mulch product itself was just fine. It spread perfectly fine. We cleared our bed from all weeds before laying out the black mulch. It's been about 3 weeks of summer heat and intermittent rain in Richmond, Texas. And lo and behold the weeds are back with revenge. Not sure if I can recommend paying all the extra money for this specialty product. Its didn't do as promised in keeping the weeds away.

Would RecommendWe love Preen! A neighbor suggested we try it LAST YEAR so we didn't hesitate THIS YEAR!! It works. At my age, I just can't weed all of my flower beds every weekend that I'm home. Bad Batch?
We have used Preen for years but this year 3 of the 20 bags had some type of seed in it as my beds had thousands of tiny sprouts growing in the mulch. I thought I paid extra money for mulch that kept OUT the weeds. Not the case this year!
