Great way to have longer clsmps

I have a variety of clamps, but have never been able to span longer than about 20 inches. These clamps are the bomb! Just use a longer pipe, and jimmity jam you have a longer clamp

Lowes stuck in the middle

I wanted additional Pony pipe clamps for my work. I had to buy and return 3 til I got one that threaded correctly, preventing mechanical binding. Lowes was very accommodating in doing this. My experience clearly reveals Pony's deteriorating quality control. I feel bad for Lowes as I know they will not be reimbursed by the manufacturer.

I've been using this type of clamps for decades now and it's an essential tool especially during doweling to construct a table top. This tool is a must have in my work shop.

These are easier. To apply more pressure to bring piece together for me then other clamps I own Also they can easy to be changed to fit larger glueups by get an additional pipe the length you need for the prodject, I draw back that there are some manufacturing defects that need to be addressed Like extra spring in one and a castingdefect that I had to grind out.

Buy harbor freight pipe clamps

I own 4 of the harbor freight half inch pipe clamps. Bought 2 of the Pony clamps from Lowes. Absolute junk. Save time, money, frustration, and possibly your entire project with the harbor freight ones. I glued my work pieces together and started clamping with the 4 I already owned. Once clamped, I unboxed the new Pony brand clamps and went to assemble them. Holy smokes, once you thread the sliding piece on, bring out a hammer to move it on the pipe! Let me start with the fact that I love these clamps that I bought in the 90's. Used almost daily, still going strong. The new ones I bought, however, don't work. As others have mentioned, the adjustable end won't slide. I figured out why: the holes in the clutch plates are not the right size. Defect in manufacturing. I contacted Pony. I have a bunch of these I bought in the 90's that are wonderful. I just bought more and the new ones are junk. It's almost impossible to slide the adjustable ends up and down on the pipe. The reason is that the holes in the clutch plates are too small. I contacted them asking for replacements. The response was, ok we can send new clutch plates, but you have to pay us $25 shipping charges.
