What changed
Would Not RecommendWe have been using these filters for many years now. The last ones purchased,i.e. 2 in December2017 and 1 in Jan 2018 and 1 in February 2018 all fell apart within 1 week. Does not appear to be any charcoal(carbon) inside and the filter media just fell apart like tissue paper. Go back to old design. New no good!

Didn't notice until I didn't use it.
Would RecommendI have city water. I didn't think this filter was doing anything until after about 40 brews. I was just using it because it was there. I noticed it wasn't filtering as well and a slight tang started getting stronger. I decided to run a pot without it. Big mistake. I emptied my pot from my thermos at work and got a new filter on my way home. Id say its a must-have for heavily chlorinated city water.
