You CAN Take The Top Track Off!
Would RecommendI didn't install this. The previous homeowner did. It works ok, but I was going to take it off and use put holes in the wall and use a plate to cover them behind the TV and floor cabinet. In the meantime I decided to use it! I just took inserted a flat micro screwdriver into the groove and it popped up. Then I ran the screwdriver down the length of track and the top part came off. I was able to put my cable and power cord in it and pop to top piece back over the track.

Would RecommendUsed several to bring a cord across a sunroom. They cut easily with a hacksaw and we were able to align them so it looks pretty seamless. Slide them apart, remove glue strip and stick the base on the wall. (They won’t move once glued to wall so place corrrectly the first time!). Lay cord in and snap the top piece onto the bottom. It would be tricky to pry them apart again, but I don’t know why we’d want to.
