I used 8X10 to put fake persian rug, thin, on thin cut pile carpet on slab. It helps a lot, but the rug still slides, even with furniture on 2 edges and very little walking. Under small rug on linoleum it works very well - this may have much to do with the backings on the 2 rugs. I may use carpet glue on the big one, along with this pad which is worth the money.

Would RecommendBit of a saga, but the rug pad that I received from Lowe’s had a very strong horrendous odor. When I first went online to submit a review I noticed several previous reviews with the same issue and preemptively contacted Mohawk via the address given in response to those reviews. Would RecommendI bought the 8x10 rug pad after a stellar review from Wirecutter and it's great. It grips onto the floor, and it's thick so it softens the rug under it without being so obvious. I had to trim the edges because it's the same size as the rug and I didn't want it to show - and it grips the rug so well it's difficult to line it up exactly right - but I wouldn't consider that a con.
