washer starts agitating with about 2 inches of water in it with a full load of clothes, no matter what setting it's set on

Died less than 2 years

I bought this washer after loving the matching dryer. But less than two years in and the washer had a complete control system failure. The main control board is ~$250 retails. I did not purchase the extended warranty is this is not covered by their 10 year limited warranty. Needless to say I am purchasing a new not Maytag washer and getting the warranty. I suggest looking elsewhere for a washer.

Lasted less than 5 years

I am extremely disappointed with this Maytag washer. I purchased it in July 2021 expecting a reliable, long-lasting appliance, but less than five years later it’s already failing. It recently started making a loud, grinding noise during the agitation cycle—something you absolutely should not hear from a machine that isn’t even that old. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am disappointed in this machine as I don't feel as if it is getting clothes clean. I never overload as there are only 2 of us and I do laundry daily so never have large loads. Not sure machine is getting enough water, have done all the suggestions the manual instructed on this issue, but still not doing a good job.

ok. Will die soon. looking elsewhere

Ok. Had it worked on a few times. Started having leaks and squealing. Felt like it got worse washing over time. Finally electronics completely died. I didn't like the buttons. Looking elsewhere now but seems like almost everything is cheap junk.

Great washer

Bearings broke after 2.25 years

I am very disappointed in Maytag and the purchase of this washing machine. It was installed in the beginning of December 2023 and the bearings are already going bad which is causing screeching during the spin cycle. This washer is only 2 years and 3 months old. Maytag definitely doesn’t make products like they used to. Don’t waste your money.

Bearing failure on 3 year old machine

My washer has recently started getting very loud when it spins. Technician said the bearings were shot and the Gearcase needs replacing. Pump wire also broke at one point, won’t be getting anything Maytag again

Broke after a couple years use

I have never been so disappointed in a washing machine in my 40+ years on the planet. We bought this a couple years ago and it already broke down and requires 500+ dollars in repairs that Maytag doesn't cover! INSANE! I'm paying for repairs that cost as much as the item itself??? Huh?? It's ridiculous! Maytag was NOT helpful at all. They basically said, "TOUGH LUCK!" and hung up. I'm so disgusted. This was my first Maytag product and will also be my last.

Worst washing machine ever

Bought 13 months ago and went out. 12 m warranty.

I purchased the set 13 MONTHS AGO, and the transmission is shot. I stayed on the phone with customer service. Getting transferred 6 to 7 times this morning and had enough and called a repair guy with 20+ years experience. And he said, they are known for these to fail within the first year or right after the 12 month warranty expires. GO FIGURE! By the way, this is really Whirlpool with the Maytag sticker because they bought them out. So, don't waste your time. I should have bought the Speed Que...

worst machine ever

Bought the Washer in October 2025, never had I such a disappointment., most of the time it does not wring out all the water from my clothes, so I have use the spin Cycle to have it spin out the water from the clothes. My old Maytag washer was 40 years old and the only thing I ever had to replace was a belt. I'm lucky if this Maytag will last 5 years really upset in the standards of Maytag is so low, this was not a cheap machine to buy, would never recommend this to anyone, and neve buy a Maytag...

Loud and extra long cycles

I've had this machine for over a year. It's loud, and does not seem to balance heavier loads very well. It also begins to agitate before it's filled with water. Basically agitating the clothes before there is enough water to wash them. Your cant' use the WIFI unless you have a slow speed, 2.5G. Also, the cycles are very long compared to my last washer. I would not buy this again and not sure I'd buy a Maytag.

Review top load washer

Out Of Balance Ridiculous It also tells me to wash with Affresh after I have loaded my clothes and soap - would not recommend this washer

Unhappy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This washer was purchased in July and so far the harness , control, capacitor, valve, cam, motor, actuator, and gear case have been replaced. I think this speaks for how unhappy I am.
