What Customers Are Saying
This wallboard square is generally useful and affordable, though with some potential quality issues. Many found it effective for cutting and measuring drywall, plywood, and other materials, praising its clear markings, lightweight design, and reasonable price. However, some reported the square was not perfectly accurate, with measurements slightly off. A few also noted it felt flimsy or slippery compared to higher-end models. Overall, it seems suitable for basic DIY projects, but may not hold up to heavy professional use. Customers recommend carefully checking the square's accuracy before relying on it for critical measurements.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews. The square worked used it to guide the cutting of sheet rock. It’s sturdy and the rivet joining of the 90 degree angle seems very good. My only complaint is the straight edge inch marking. It is 47 7/8 long not 48 inches. They tell you on the square it actually helps in horizontal scoring but you have to be aware of it for layout because it

Not square
Would Not RecommendAs seems to be the case with nearly all squares these days at the home centers, its not square, not even close. I got this to replace an Empire square, that was also not square hoping for a better result. Its probably fine for drywall, which I guess is its main intended purpose. But for squaring up something like a tracksaw or using as a reference it's no good.
The one i got is not a perfect 90 degree angle it is slanted a little. Which makes it almost useless

Double check measurements, ruler offset
Would Not RecommendIt's a nice square, very rigid but double check the ruler measurements before walking out of the store. I checked mine and it's 1/8" off. There are a bunch of measuring tools in Lowe's so just grab one real quick and make sure the notches line up. I've had this square for 2 years and just found out my measurements have been off. This would explain a lot of headaches and frustrations I've come across in various projects.
Works great!
Would RecommendWorks like it should. You may have to hold it firmly in place when using to score with.

It is thin and slick = moves a lot
Would Not RecommendMy heavy duty tsquare got bent during a job. Same day I was at Lowes so I just picked this one up because it looked nice, didn't want to spend $20+ on a better one, and I was in a hurry. Conclusion: I hate it. The first couple days we noticed it would move around while we were marking or making cuts. You have to really hold onto it a lot more than my thicker drywall squares. Now I know why we had the bigger thicker t-square. If you are going to be out on the end of this a lot (at 48")...
