Would RecommendThis is my first grout job. I chose this grout, read opinions on the internet, then decided to call Mapei tech line for tips. I took their advice and used a 3/1 ratio. Mixed a small batch first to get the feel for what to expect. Started by using a 1/3 measuring cup. After mixing by hand for several minutes, I began to grout. Would RecommendFirst DIYer laying tile and using grout. The package warns that the grout is quick drying and is ready to bear weight in three hours but I didn’t realize how quickly it would harden. I mixed the entire ten pound bag but I was only able to use about 3 lbs worth before the grout had hardened beyond the point of usability and left a hard to remove covering on my tile. The final product looks great but I would recommend only mixing up 1-2 lbs at a time especially if you are a novice like me

Lowes is now known for selling hot garbage, but I expected Mapei to stand up to them and offer a good product... NOPE. This grout sets hard in 5-10 minutes when you follow the instructions exactly to the tee. It was too wet to work with and would stick to EVERYTHING but the grout joints. Would Not Recommendthis grout ruined my tub project. I started on the end wall and it started setting up hard as cement before I finished grouting the panel. I called my wife to come help me get it off, but it was setting so fast both of us couldn't save it. I had to scratch it off with a rag and a butter knife. It ruined my day and my project. Mapei shouldn't sell this junk. And I'll never trust Mapei products again ever!
