If you have light and dark areas it is not the fault of the product. the light areas are lack of water in the grout when spreading it. all you have to do is wet the light areas with a little white vinegar and take a stiff brush and gently brush off the top layer of sandy grout. then rinse of the vinegar and it will dry the darker color you are looking for.

Would Not RecommendUsing this grout for my Saltillo tile floor. It says on the bag that it is suitable for Saltillo tile. The grout is not mocha colored. It turns variations of gray/white after drying. Yes, I followed the instructions on mixing and application to the letter. I even used distilled water to eliminate the possibility of minerals. All with no success. I'm now stuck with having to paint the grout to get any type of consistent color. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. I'm very sorry I did.
