What Customers Are Saying
The product has received mixed reviews regarding its quality. While some customers reported the pine needles were long, fresh, and had minimal debris, the majority of reviews indicate the quality was poor, with excessive amounts of sticks, pine cones, leaves, and other unwanted materials mixed in. Many customers were dissatisfied with the smaller-than-expected bale sizes and the presence of old, dried out, or moldy needles. Overall, the quality and value of the product seem inconsistent.

Would Not RecommendBails had medium natural debris including sticks, pine cones, grass, weeds and vines and also metal cans and paper. Yet, most disappointedly, the bails were very small -- I'd call them pine straw nuggets rather than bails. Will not buy again.
The bails have a lot of sticks and are expensive.
Would Not RecommendThe long leaf pine needles were of good quality, but there were a fair amount of pine cones and sticks that took up space in the bail. The price has gone up every year too and has become too expensive.

Long leaf pine needles
Would RecommendToo many sticks and pinecones.
bad bales
Would Not Recommendabsolute worst bunch of pine needles I've ever gotten from Lowes . Small bales, very loosely packed, just not good at all.
"Locked and Loaded"
Would RecommendI have bought pine straw for years at Lowes, this year they were the best no junk and cones limbs etc
Pinestraw
Would RecommendGreat product
Pine Needle bales were the worst bales I've ever purchased. I've always purchased them from Lowe's but never again. The bales were much smaller, wet on the inside and full of vines and leaves. They were also so compacted it was very difficult to break apart to spread. I realize prices have increased but $7 per bales for that low of quality was ridiculous. Never again will I waste my time, money and effort.
Frank provided fast, friendly and professional customer service.
Worked great for my raised bed
Would RecommendCovered way more than I thought
Quality Pine Straw
clean , neatly packed and free of other debris- except a few pinecones
Small batches full of leaves and sticks
Would Not RecommendBeware! This is the worst pine straw. Small batches and full of leaves and many small and large sticks. Batches are really stuck together and hard to spread. I won’t buy this from Lowe’s again. Shame on you Lowe’s!!!!
Full of Junk
Would Not RecommendEach bale contains at least 10% junk; limbs, bark, straw, cones, and prickly vines. Not only a waste of money, but the time to lay it down is doubled because you have to pick out so much junk. I easily filled a 33 gallon trash bag with the junk off of 20 bales.
Great sub for regular mulch
Ease of use and overall look is fabulous
Good pine needles.
No problems.
