attachment is great the freezer cups not so much

i would recommend but be aware of a couple things... i am a shaved ice junkie and a huge supporter of kitchen aid, i have a mixer in both my homes and just about every attachment i could need.. When this came out i rushed to get it... i do own "snow cone machines but find they dont do a great job. snow cones tend to have larger particles of ice and shaved ice more like snow (despite the names) The unit comes with the the course blade installed however that really makes more of a snow cone c...

More Ice Cups needed.

My daughter dropped the ice cup and it cracked and the bottom fell out. We need ice cups now. How do we get them?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pusher plate broke the first time we used it. We think that we did not let the ice puck "temper" long enough before trying to shave it. Easily got a replacement. With warm weather now, we are looking forward to shave ice this summer.

Perfect attachment for summer

This is the perfect attachment for a kitchenaid mixer. Now, it doesn't require a trip to hawaii for a great ice treat.

Can be dangerous - please read review!

I absolutely loved this attachment the first time I used it. On the second use, the black plastic ice cup pusher drove through the ice and through the bottom of the blade with so much force, it pushed the ice cup sleeve containing the ice completely off, sending it across the kitchen like a missile. Keep in mind the mixer has to be set at the highest speed to use the ice shaver, so having a piece of the attachment fly off at that velocity is downright dangerous. Shaved Ice Attachment a big hit with entire family

Shaved Ice Attachment works great! Easy, fast & excellent quality of shaved ice. I made a container full of “ice pucks” (using the 4 ice containers that come with the attachment) because we had the entire family here. Everyone thought it was as good as the big commercial shaved ice machines. Only improvement would be if KitchenAid sold the 4 ice containers sets, for making the “ice pucks”, separately…I would love to have 1 or 2 more sets!…because I had to spend a few days freezing the 4 containe...

Great Ice Shaver

Now I can make flavored shave ice with fruit, coffee, Filipino halo halo or Korean bingsu, so many options. I’m looking forward to summer so I can experiment with more flavors. And it's way better than the classic Snoopy snow cone makers, which are cheaply made, hard to use, and don't really produce good ice. This is super easy to use, easy to clean-up (just needs to dry!), and makes good ice. Pretty happy about this.

It was so simple to use and it whipped out the ice at rapid speed. It was fast and since it was just ice there was nothing really to clean up.
