Super ice maker

Does not work and makes terrible noise

I have multilple other Kitchenaid appliances and they don't have the issues that this icemaker has. I now have to replace the entire unit as apparently it can't be serviced.

Perfectly cubed ice!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this ice maker for our basement and we love it! The ice cubes are perfect and the amount of ice and how quickly the ice is made is awesome! Only complaint would be that it is challenging to clean inside.

Drippy Water Dispenser

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit is great...plenty of room on top and bottom and the ice maker is above average. However, the inside front door water dispenser dribbles after each use! You have to leave your water glass under the spigot and count off seven drops before moving your glass. Otherwise, the drips soak the bottom door shelf.

Clear ice with filter

Works great and quiet

Ice machine cutting grid on all of the time

After the purchase, it came to my attention that the cutting grid is always on and when not actively melting ice has a temperature of 115 degrees F. So in essence there is a constant heater in the ice box. This causes two concerns, one there is always power being used by the grid (heat), the other is it causes the just formed ice to melt quickly. Great appliance

Perfect size ice

When it works I love it

This new unit KUIX535HPS purchased in May 2025 has not been trouble free, it intermittently and randomly powers off. It has done this at least 7 times in four months of ownership. Perfect homeowners icemaker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced our Icemaker with this KitchenAid unit and are absolutely thrilled. It makes ice quickly. The volume of ice is fantastic – more than enough for a party. It is much quieter than the unit we had before. It is an absolute winner!

Works great...until it doesn't

I bought this machine 4 years ago and it has been a great product. This week, it slowly stopped producing ice and now the ice plate will not get cold enough to produce the ice. I suspect there to be a micro-leak somewhere and now all the refrigerant is gone. I expected a longer life for something in this price range.

SUCKS

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If only I had done a little research, I would never spend real money on this trash. It makes more noise than anything I have ever owned. ANYTHING!. I also did not realized that I was getting baby ice cubes. When you drink anything, you have to keep your teeth closed to keep from swallowing little ice cubes. Everybody that visits my house get a lesson on this machine. I am going to throw it out in the middle of my street.
