Misleading filter size.... S1 means SHORt
This filter will work on my 7000 series Kohler on my Z5400 zero turn, however it requires the standard 12 050 01, the one in stores is actually the 12 050 01-S1 which is about an 1 inch shorter than what came factory. That is around 25% of the filtering capability as well as less cooling effect as the oil goes through the external filter. I won't chance it on my 22hp, may be great for smaller motors.

I had to pierce the old filter with a giant screwdriver to have enough leverage to unscrew it. Then I lovingly replaced it with this beauty. It's been filtering all of the oil my tractor's been slurping ever since. No one has died on my property after making the switch.
