They hook together!!!
Would RecommendExtendable quick clamps. The ends hook together so two 12 inch clamps can reach 20+ inches but also work as regular 12 inch clamps. The pair of 6 inch clamps can also hook to the 12 inch so the coverage in use-cases is fantastic!

You should drill a new hole for the roll pin
Would Not RecommendNot reversable without minor modification. If you want to push with these you will need to remove the roll pin in the bar or you will not be able to lock the clamp to the bar. I'm guessing when they added the dovetail for the purpose of putting two clamps together to be used as one they did not think about that extra plastic would interfere with the pin on the other end.
