I have only used this a couple of times, so time will tell. I have not had much trouble with my drains, but I do not want problems, so I think this is an easy to use preventative that is not harmful for my plumbing. I watch "Ask This Old House" and the plumber Richard recommends using a biological based preventative that eats away at hair and grease to prevent buildup and blockage. The chemical drain cleaners can eat away at your plumbing as well as the blockage.
