Would Not RecommendDuring the selection process I selected a large capacity, top of the line garbage disposal. Instead my builder installed a Badger 5XP. I suspect it was the cheapest option. I am very disappointed. It clogs with minimal scraps, i.e. small amount of potato or carrot peelings. In addition, the baffle is not removable UNLESS YOU DISASSEMBLE the entire disposal unit. Others have complained about this very bad design made worse by a manual that says it is removable on page 2! This is VERY MISLEA...

Stops working occasionally
Would Not RecommendThis one is installed in a sink that is used less than the main sink and therefore the garbage disposal isn't used that much. All the time it stops working and needs to be turned manually in order to be functional again

Titanic type rust interior
Would Not RecommendRusting inside. The bottom plate that holes the blades, the blades and the center screw. Looks like the exterior of the titanic. So much for quality. Don't remember past products doing this type of rusting. 3 years installed. This is the Badger model.

Owned first Insinkerator Badger for 20 Years. Great product. Relatively easy to install. Make sure fully turn the disposal to lock in secure. I used channel lock plier gently to fully turn to click sound.

Poor impeller housing materials.
Would RecommendPurchased new and replaced old disposal unit due leaking casting after only 5 years of light home use. The impeller casting metal developed small pinhole leaks and slowly leaked water destroyed my under sink cabinet flooring.

Okay with one exception
Unit seems to work well, but the strange way the splash guard is set up is a complete fail in my opinion. It doesn't block noise like the splash guard in my old unit did and it allows fairly large items, such as a metal water bottle top, to drop down into the blade area requiring me to constantly retrieve items.
