It's a food baffle, too. Unless you push the food into the disposal, it won't go into the disposal. Had to get out the scissors and cut a bigger opening, and it still doesn't work as good as the good ol' baffle from before the big "improvement".

Brand new house with an inferior disposal

I just moved into my new house and to my surprise the kitchen sink drain is a pain to use. Water backs up in the sink when the faucet is fully on like when you are cleaning up and need the disposal to do its job. I spend more time and water chasing the food and particles round the sink while the baffle catches up and usually "assist" it along with my hand. I really like this. Pops right in and pulls out easily. Stopper works with it in place.

Leaking Sink?? This is the perfect solution!

Our kitchen sink would habitually leak when I was doing the dishes. It might seem like no big deal, but over time, it became pretty irritating. I thought there must be a simple, low cost way of addressing the problem, and with one visit to the Plumbing aisle at Lowes--and with a little help from an employee who helped me search out the splash guard--I found what I needed for very little money. Now, no problem, no leaks and a problem effectively and cheaply solved. Jack C.

Very flimsy and lasted less than 1 year. This is only a water splash guard at best.

Terrible "new" baffle for a nice new disposal. This baffle is so flimsy and is not made from thick rubber like the old ones used to be. It allows silverware to fall through and does not absorb any sound. Please bring back the older version, it lasted the life of the disposal, which was over 20 years! This one lasted only 1 year, then a quarter of it just tore off for no reason under very light use. It is worthless.

Old design was vastly superior

This new design is thinner and flimsy. It allows silverware and other utensils to fall right through the baffle/splash guard into the disposal. The old design has some heft to it and did not do this. I want the old design back!!! This new design sucks!!! It's far too flimsy, cheap, and downright awful.. My old part - falling apart after 15 years of service, did a better job.

I have the Evolution Compact model.

The Quite Collar Baffle is a terrible product. It collects food debris on underside of collar and the the metal collar of disposal. This causes a terrible odor. No matter how much you run the water debris still collects. It is poor design! Please have your engineers redesign the underside of this collar. If you do I would be the first to buy it.

A Quiet Disposal Unit Doesn't Need a "Water Cap".

As many others have stated, the collar prevents water from draining quickly so water pools up in the sink (especially after dumping out a large pot of water). The company claims the design is to allow water to pool to act as a "cap" over the disposal unit to make it more quiet during use. The unit is already very quiet during operation, I feel that there is no need for this "water cap" to reduce noise even further. Poor Design

The collar allows food.ro settle around it,.and it becomes slimy and gross. I have to put it in the dishwasher every week to keep it clean. It's a poor design due to the inner flaps that allow food to stick. I am looking for a better solution.

Perfect fit. I was very excited when I installed this and the first time using it, NOTHING splashed out as it should. The one I had before always splashed out.

Start making the original part again!

Water will not go down and my sink stopper no longer fits. With all the negative reviews you would think the company would maybe take notice and make so changes, but no, all I see is that "this is the way it works". News flash guys, it doesn't work near as well as the original part. Are there any original parts in the warehouse anywhere. If so, I need two.
