What Customers Are Saying

The drill bit is generally considered a high-quality and effective tool for various woodworking tasks. Many users praised its ability to quickly and cleanly drill through thick, dense lumber. The bit was also noted for staying sharp even after extensive use and being well-constructed with minimal wobble or flex. However, some users found the bit dulled relatively quickly, especially when drilling harder woods. A few customers also received defective bits that were warped or of poor quality.

Mediocre quality

Would Recommend

This long 1/2" bit was sharp, but very warped, and wobbled a lot. It served my purpose....but I qualify my recommendation...I only recommend it if you don't need any precision in your project.

slow and steady

Would Recommend

Used to install through bolts on a deck ramp support. Drilling through 6" worth of pressure treated wood is slow. I used a regular twist bit which drilled faster but was not long enough, then finished with this bit. There are better long bits, like the auger style but they cost significantly more. For my project, this was the best compromise in cost and utility.

Does the Job

Would Recommend

I needed this to put some bolts through a 10-1/2 inch thick beam. A little longer than I would have liked (necessitating a bit more caution getting started) it drilled quickly-- much faster than the twist style bit I had been using on thinner beams. Be careful not to hit any nails-- there weren't any, but experience has shown that this type of bit is quickly ruined if it encounters steel.

works well

Would Recommend

This bit works quite well drilling thru wood. There is some flex in the shaft because of its length and it's not that thick. Outside of that it has held up well drilling multiple holes thru old 6x6 pieces of lumber that are pretty solid. The price was also pretty good.

Dulls to quickly

Would Not Recommend

Used product to drill pin holes in landscape timbers to hold same in place. Timbers were stacked three high and after nine holes bit was to dull to continue for desired use.
