Would RecommendQuick grip vices are a necessity on my work bench. I have them in all sizes. My previous pair of this size lasted 7 years with heavy use, but like all things eventually gave up their ghost. It gave me an excuse to get new ones. Yaaaayyyy!!!!

Would RecommendI use them for a lot of projects. They keep things in place and rarely leave marks. I’ve held wood vertically on the wall with them. Love em!
These things are horrid
Would Not RecommendThese things may work okay for a rough job, but if you're trying to clamp something together precisely (specifially wood in this case) then these things are useless. They move around a lot and aside from it clamping down well, that's about all that can be said positive about them. Should have gone with the old fashioned metal ones.

Would RecommendI am just learning to do wood working. These clamps are the best, they can close wit one hand while the other is holding the wood. And you can buy a separate piece for 90 degree angles.

Would Not RecommendI've got a Sears equivalent product that works extremely well but costs more than the Irwin product. I found the Irwin clamp less user friendly and as easy to use as the Sears device. I wouldn't buy it again.

These are the handiest clamps ever made.
Would RecommendI have a few sizes of these clamps, but 6 inch is the size I use the most. They are best set of extra hands you can have. I have never had them fail yet. There really is no competition for these clamps. The release mechanism is pure genius.
