Release requires a lot of pressure
it works well, but not as good as the older model I own. The release requires a lot of pressure, sometimes requiring two hands. It’s also a bit expensive. The pads secure better and aren’t likely to slide off.

Tough clamp

Irwin may be loosing it on quality control.
Would Not RecommendHave used these clamps for years in a professional working environment and have been quite happy - until after I bought these new ones. On the first job, both of them kept coming apart at the ends (which has happened after years of use). Suspect the end latch engineering and/or manufacturing has cut back some .0005 materials cost (which, of course, translates to thousands of $ manufacturing millions of units).
Great Tool
Would RecommendEasy to use and can pull things together or push them apart with great pressure, I have a few of them and they work great to handle may medium size wood projects.

Strong grip with little effort
Would RecommendThis clamp holds your project materials in place so you can install fasteners or adhesive. The best part is they don’t require a gorilla’s grip to get the holding power.
Useless
Would Not RecommendDoesnt show you anything about inside guts so you can put it back yogetger when handle falls out
