Irwin has been and remains the name to trust when it comes to locking pliers. Having recently accumulated a hefty amount of welding specific tools I wanted to make sure that I covered locking needle nose pliers. These locking pliers have helped me on at least five specific occasions that if I didn't have them I would have been in a serious predicament. While there are some slight alignment issues, the tool overall feels very accommodating. I do wish that Irwin tools were as tight as they once ...

Would Not RecommendI used this Irwin/Vise Grip to try and remove a small #10-24x1/4 Flathead screw. I tightened the thumb screw and as I squeezed the handles, the upper jaw exploded apart! Not good!!

Would RecommendThese were admittedly tough to unlock upon first opening the package. If you have limited grip strength or dexterity issues I'd make sure to have someone (even store staff) help you unlock out of the package. After that, the pliers have a great grip and lock firmly in place. I highly recommend for smaller jobs that bulkier pliers are too large for.
