Only needed a remote

I called to get some input on what would cause my fan to quit wotking shortly after it was installed... I had already replaced the battery in the remote to no avail. I called and they said a new remote may help and directed me where/how to get one. With the new remote the fan works fine.

Pairing issues

Advertised as a universal remote. Remote will not pair with the ceiling fan/light

Wall mount different; new holes, wall patch needed

Extremely easy to sync up with the new fan receiver. Unlike the original remote this has a button on the back. Also, the instructions to reverse the direction of the fan from down to up are very clear. It is much smaller, so repairs to wall required to hang the mount.

Works perfectly with my Hunter Douglas fan with light. Very easy to pair. I called Hunter Douglas to obtain the correct remote model # before ordering.

I absolutely hate this trend of multi-function buttons--especially when they are not labelled with any meaningful symbols.

I would suggest buying this remote for those owning a Hunter fan. Having said that, this is my experience: I bought this as an extra remote to be mounted on the other end of a wall in a large space. The original remote that came with the fan did not come with a wall mount holder. The remote does what it needs to do however, without the small instruction card, it is in NO WAY intuitive except for: light on/off, fan on/off and fan speed up/down. A first time user of this remote would not know how...

The item was easy to pick up after ordering online. We have not installed yet, but hope it is an improvement over the remote which came with the ceiling fan.
