Lasted 5 years, but beware of the light kit.

Overall liked the fan. It was a good looking fan, quiet and it lasted a little over 5 years. (January 2015 to July 2020) However the fan speeds never worked quite right. You would click on 1st or 2nd speed and sometimes it would just stop. Of course sometimes it worked fine. Last week the light fixture made a loud pop and quit working. Fan is still fine, but after reading the Fan Kit reviews I'll be replacing the entire fan. I guess when you pro-rate it at $90 over the course of 5.5 years...

Don't buy this

So bought this fan and went to install it. The junction box was not rated for a ceiling fan so I went with there recommendation #2 of installing with the wood screws. If you do this the canopy is not big enough to cover the junction box. So if you don't want the junction box showing don't go with option 2 wood screw installation. I called Hunter fans and there response was hire a electrician to put in a different junction box.

Great fan

Installed this a couple weeks ago, the installation was easy. The fan is quiet and does not shake at all even on high speed. The light kit and fan looks good.

Poor store quality control

I finally opened the box to install this and found out someone had returned it with broken parts and Lowe’s must have just reshelved it without checking. It was clearly broken and should not have been reshelved.

A real review

Unlike most reviews, mine is not done a day or two after install. My fan was purchased 8 years ago. Does it still look great, yes. Does it still function properly, no. The fan motor is shot and there is really no difference between the low and high fan settings. I’m about to start a warranty claim process with Hunter. We’ll see how that goes. Does lifetime mean lifetime? Thank you to Lowes for making it easy to save my receipts electronically in their app!

Save your money

We built a new house & installed fans in the spare bedrooms ourselves. We bought two of these to put in girls’ rooms. We thought buying Hunter brand meant these would last. They both lasted approx 3 years & the fan motors went out within 6 months of each other. Boo. We won’t be buying Hunter again.

Great replacement.

Zero Issues. Replaced a 22 year old living room fan in a 24 x 20 ft room. Great air mover. SImple to install as a replacement. Beautiful, quiet, and perfectly balanced.

Good Fan

Good fan for a small bedroom/room. However, the ENTIRE fan had to be put together...unlike other Hunter fans we have installed. So, it took more time to install. Overall, for the price, we got it 10% off, it's a good fan. We like Hunter fans the best!

Fan is ok.

Fan and light works ok. Easy to install. Too much motor hum for a Hunter ceiling fan. Could be quieter. Balance is good. I probably will not buy another Hunter.

motor quit working already

I have had this unit barely 5years and the motor has quit working. The lights are still nice but i expected more from hunter! And of course i cant find the receipt after all these years! Lifetime warranty works only if you have it! I know i registered it but they cant find my info.

Loud Hum from fan motor

I installed one, turned it on, and started disassembly 5 minutes later when i heard the loud hum from the motor. Since i know the Hunter reputation, I returned and replaced with a new box of the same fan. It makes the same loud noise. This fan is louder than 20 year old no name ceiling fans in my house.

Very nice, quiet fan

Replaced 2 fans with these. Very happy with the purchase & quality of the fans. Highly recommend!

super easy setup

took me no time to assemble and put it up. only issue was the long Philips screws used to attach it to the ceiling. I replaced the with some torx bit screws. fan also came with bulbs!!

Dependable Hunter fan.

We've owned a number of Hunter fans over the years. Not because they go bad. But because we moved. Our experience with this fan has been just as we expected. No problems with installation, and quiet, vibration-free operation. Only issue we encountered was when trying to register the fan online. Apparently, Hunter had not updated their web registration software to recognize that when recording the date of purchase, 2020 is no longer a date in the future. Good fan for my bedroom

My Hunter Ridgefield ceiling fan was the last thing I installed in my recently remodeled bedroom. It is a great addition. If you want good task lighting, this is a good fan to go with. I installed the fan during the middle of winter so I have used it very little. The fan is balanced and quiet. Unlike previous Ridgefield models, this model is not a "5 minute fan", meaning there is more involved with blade attachment. However, unlike previous Ridgefield models, this model comes with LED light bulb...

Attractive Fan

Very attractive ceiling fan with lights for small room. Only negative is that the light bulbs included are extremely bright. Luckily, we have a dimmer switch for the light, but if you don't, just be prepared for a very bright room.
