Solid pole
Would RecommendSolid pole, but did need additional supports once the weight of the lights were strung up on it. I just ran a steel cable from the top of the pole over to a nearby tree, and that did the trick.

Sturdy when spaced 10" apart
Would RecommendThese are sturdy enough for the price. I used 4 over a 40 foot span and zip tied the wire to each loop- to avoid pulling too hard on any one section. It can be a little hard to get them into firm ground, and because it's just a straight spike I worry they may eventually have enough micro movements to enlarge the hole a little and not stay perfectly straight. I may also add a guide wire to each end pole to help with the extra force pulling inward towards the others, but so far they are fine, even...

Would RecommendThese would be so much better if they could be put deeper into the ground. I used them to install an 11'10" x 8' Coolaroo Sun Shade to keep the heat off my front porch where I have Tomatoes and Broccoli growing. I am afraid that they will bend fairly easily with a light breeze.
