Doesn't work

Makes foam in the pool and hot tub. Doesn't really kill algea

Works Well

My best friend has a pool and was quite happy when I suggested she also use this product. I love the neat packaging with succinct and pleasant writing. I especially love that it eliminates that green buildup.

Pool chemicals

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife & I went on vacation and didn’t have anyone to take care of our pool while we were gone. When we returned the pool water had turned green. So we added some HTH algae guard Advanced along with HTH shock to the water & let it run through the night. In the morning the we were able to go swimming after vacuuming. We were very satisfied

Works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was getting ready to close the pool for the season and noticed some green slimy gook on the liner in a few places, I added the whole quart bottle to the pool and let the pump run for about 30 minutes and the green slime was gone. I must say I was skeptical didn't really think it would do the trick but I now I have a nice clean pool with no more slime.

Good product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a great product for my pool.. directions were easy to understand.. it did not make my pool cloudy at all. It helped with the slimy that was on the liner. I would definitely recommend this product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our pool began to show signs of algae late in the summer season so we decided to use the Algae Guard to try and clear up the water. After only an hour, we saw immediate results and were able to vacuum the dead algae from the bottom of the pool.

CLEAR YET FOAMY

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'M RATING A 3 ONLY BEACE OF THE FOAMY FILM IT LEAVES BEHIND. THE ADVANCED FORMULA DOES WORK GREAT, AND IS MY GO TO FOR THAT HORRIBLE MUSTARD ALGAE WE SEEM TO ALWAYS GET. WATER IS SUPER CLEAR AND I SEE ALOT LESS ALGAE NOW

Good product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked it because it looks very good quality. I used it in my jacuzzi and it worked great! It was very easy to use, effective, works fast, and lasts long. I like that it kills and prevents different algae, and that it's non-foaming. If your pool/jacuzzi/spa has a lot of algae, you may still need to scrub a little bit though, which I didn't like, but it worked as I expected.

I am overall extremely happy with it. I have tried other brands in the past that did not due the trick. So I would recommend!!

Pool Algae

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you have a pool that algae this right here is the stuff to use, my mom uses this in her pool and you can see a big difference can’t wait to try all this stuff I have been receiving for a swimming pool, I would highly recommend everyone who has a pool to tryit out!!!

Effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] HTH Pool Care Algea Guard is a great product for keeping pool water algea free. I have used a tiny amount on our water fountain and it also helps a lot keeping the water clear and clean. I use this along with other HTH pool products and they are very effective.

Excellent product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is excellent! I have an 8,000 gallon above ground pool. I used only 3 fl. oz. a week, and I have never had an algae problem or problem with cloudy water. The directions are easy to use, and it even has a measuring scale on the side to show how much liquid to use. So helpful!! I would definitely recommend this product to others.

Once a week does it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a medium sized pool and I noticed it was starting to get slimy on the walls so we brushed that down and we put the algae guard in I couldn't believe that it works so quick and that all I have to do is add it weekly and no more slime great product it works!

Since we started using this product, we haven't had any issues with green algae at all. It works best if you use it along with the other HTH products and the swimimpool water will stay transparent, odorless and beautiful.

The best non-copper formula

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]  I was having a horrible algae bloom and nothing was working. I had been putting other copper formulas of algeside in the pool and checking all the levels making sure the PH was right and the chlorine was low. I tried this Advanced version, which is non-copper based and put the recommended dose for the initial use in and the next day I saw results. I usually stick with Copper type formulas like the Ultra version, but I have to say that stuff is...

Algae Guard Advanced

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The bottle states that you can swim 15 minutes after using the product. However, took quite a while to skim the foam out of the pool. I definitely would not call this a non-foaming product. Other than that, it did eliminate the algae I had in my pool and it seems to be keeping it away as well. The directions say to use it every 3-5 days for maintenance. However, with the amount of foam it created, I definitely won't be using it that often.

If you follow directions exactly your algae will clear in 24 hours ready to vacuum. I like that you can use as a preventative algae maintenance especially for busy people who can’t check the Pool every day. This will be a staple in my pool shed! Highly recommend
