Countersinking head deck screws

Having to replace many screws in deck. Purchased these and have been very satisfied with the quality of the screws. They stay "on the bit" and bite into the wood very well.

Grip-Rite Screws

These are an excellent value and significantly cheaper than Spax or GRK if they are strong enough for what you are working on. I used them to anchor a replacement window stoop (10' long) and to fasten new pieces to some rotted 2x4 studs. They went in easily and anchored nicely. The Torx drive is a great improvement over either phillips or square drive.

Cannot beat the torx drive. Be carefull to make sure box is sealed, bought one box that had a sLice in the plastic. Drive bit and several screws were missing.

I love these decking screws! I am 77 years old and have been through all types of screws, and believe me, the new star series is the best ever. First came the "flat head" screw with a single slot and the screw driver kept slipping out Then came the Phillip's head screw which was a great improvement over the flat screw. These are great for 2x4 assembly

These are exterior grade but I use them on the inside too. The hex drive design means I've never stripped a screw or broken one off for that matter. I like the fact that the bit comes with the screws. Be sure and buy more than what you think you'll need. As nice as they are to use, I find a use a lot of them.

I just love these screws

I use them for everything, from the 1 5/8 in to 4 in. I have purchased in both one pound boxes and 5 bound boxes. Use them in wood working also, no piolit hole needed. Always be careful with any screw near the edge. Of all the boxes I have purchased only had one pound box that where the self starting screw was not working correctly. I should have taken them back, but I still used that box up instead of making another trip. They work well. I have converted from McFeeleys square drive to these. So...

There was a better design

I liked the Phillips Square -Drive screws a lot better - this design is weak as it requires the driver bit to be exactly parallel to the screw head or the bit will jump out and you now have a defective screw-with the Phillips or Square Dive bit it is not critical to line up exactly with the screw head.

Runs in and out great! Have had about 2% breakage, sure hope they will last in the weather for thr next 30 years like the treated wood is should do.

These are just great! Drive in with ease. Started off using normal style screws & was having to pilot hole everyone. With these just lined up and drilled in with zero stripping of the head or slippage. Also they came with a drill bit, awesome cause during my reconstruction I lost a bit or two!

great product, would use again

this was a great product that easy to start in most any wood. star type drive was great and had little slippage if any at all. I would use this screw again and would recommend it to anyone

The star drive is by far better than a phillips. Just wish they were not so expensive
