It might work on things like regular stickers and packing tape residue, but it did nothing when I applied to 3M double-sided tape (the thick tape with red divider).

Goof Off paint remover works very well on most surfaces. Caution though on metal surfaces with compete stripping of all color. Good with oil or latex paints!
