Would RecommendYou can easily get a moisture reading, however if you are checking the moisture between concrete slab and the carpet pading, don't push the unit hard against the concrete or you will bend and possibly break the pointy probe

Would Not RecommendBought this moisture meter today, took it out of the package and put the battery in. The light coming on was the most useful thing it's done since then. The only places it will give a reading are on human skin and on the calibration tester built into the cover. I've pressed it against every wood or drywall surface on the second floor of my house and it just sits there with three dashes on the screen. I've tried swapping the pins for the extra set it came with, and that didn't make a bit of diffe...

Would RecommendI bought this as Lowes had it in stock while a competitor did not keep moisture meters in stock at their stores. I haven't really read the instructions so I am not sure what options it might have. Just needed this top keep on top of a beam that was soaked by a leaky roof. This meter was very reasonably priced, easy to use, and seems accurate. I have heard that the tips can bend easily so have been careful when in use. Happy with this overall. Good purchase

Would Recommendfirst time user of moisture meters, this is simple to operate, easy to read , except in low light situations, clear instructions, love the design especially the protection of needle probes, great value for the money, I think they must be very much in demand by people who make furniture using especially those using rough lumber. Would RecommendThe product is actually a moisture meter. It does a good job of estimating the amount of moisture in wood or other building material. It definately does not measure temperature.
