Good product but part issue needs to be corrected

Bought my Cosense GP 6500 in October 2018 after Hurrican Michael knocked out our power for 2 weeks. Fast forward 2020, I went to start the generator to let it a run a few mins. Did the pre start steps, opened the fuel valve etc...and as soon as I started pulling on the crank, fuel began to flow out of the bottom and sides of the carburetor. Great looking product, great features, and easy to set up and start first time.. Quiet little generator, as well.. ( And the color, is splendid..matches our Kubota Tractor ! ...Cannot wait for first storm to try it out !~ Great job, Generac ! ! !

Easy to start!

Bought when power went out in early august. Ran 2 fridges and a chest freezer without a hiccup! Recently had a transfer switch set up so now I can power the whole house if I want to. Starts on first or second pull every time, and has enough power to not strain at all.

This product is very easy to use

Just purchased this product a few weeks ago and me my wife love the easiness of use and performed as advertised. Would recommend it anyone that faced the same situation as we were, going thru two hurricanes back to back three weeks apart. Thanks Generac for such a great product.

Great value BUT ...

Great bang for your buck! Typically starts on first easy pull, runs smoothly, and produces enough back-up power to run my whole house ALMOST normally! Would have been 5 stars EXCEPT for the sensitivity of the COsense system. Placed outdoors parallel to the building at a distance of 6 feet, the unit runs for 5-7 minutes and then COsense shuts it down! Need to place the unit exhaust away, perpendicular to the building and at 9 feet away! Also, the assembly instructions, while straightforward...

Trusted Power

Just bought gp6500. Didn’t take long to set up. The power came back on before the generator was ready but I did shut power back off and tried the generator for backup power and it worked just great. I will have to do a follow up review the next time the power goes off. I have worked in the industrial industry for forty years so I know that Generac can be trusted. I’m sure I will have this generator for many years.

This product is top-notch!

i would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a backup for home energy. It is easy to use and reliable. The noise level is minimal.

I purchased this Generac during the aftermath of Hurricane Laura. Pro's: Very little assembly was needed before it was ready for service. Excellent quality of construction. Has a good set of features to make it easy to use and keep it in service as long as it is required. (Fuel gauge, hour meter, and quite a decent sized fuel tank) Con's: Pull start only. This product has great features

This product works, quite noisy for such a small engine but it ran perfectly for more than 2 days.

Like the setup and easy start

bought the generator to use for loss of power. because my wife is on medical equipment. Liked the first pull starts the generator. Can't afford to be without power for the medical equipment

Worked

Louisiana doesn't require the emissions control features this generator has. The only reason we bought this generator was because it was the only one available that day. Would have preferred a less features, however it worked like a champ.

Runs when you need it!!

Bought this to replace an older one I gave to my son, ran like a champ for years. The new one was purchased because of the Deracho that went through our area Benton Co. Iowa, August 10, 2020. Finally found one 75 miles away in Cedar Falls. First oil change 41hrs, second change at 109 hrs. The unit ran continuous for 187 hrs. straight! One pull start every time. The unit ran our 28,00 sq. ft. home, AC, frig, freezer, lights etc. Excellent piece of equipment and reliable! Never been happier. ...

Got this generator for backup as a result of loosing power during a hurricane. It has performed well and continues to perform well. Highly recommend.

Great Dependability

Bought this during Laura Hurricane, brought us thru a critical time of heat and needing to save our food and keeping us comfortable, actually a life saver during unexpected times, thanks so much for the dependability and ease of operation, been a God send.

Great buy

bought after hurricane went home put together, oil/gas in it started right up, after i found a 30amp cord i hooked up camper on 30amp and the house ref and freezer on 20amp everthing works great ran for 12/14 hrs. It would be great if 30and 20 amp adapter were supplied and not having to try and find in an emergency.

Starts first pull , second pull if you don’t turn switch on!

Very nice and only $750.00 easy to put wheels and handle on about 20 minutes with opening box and ready to run , nice you included a funnel that works for eng. oil. Only ran to test.no vibrations and quieter than old Coleman pro 5000 and good voltage.

CO Sense Problems

I've had this generator for over a year and used it once every two weeks with my trailer. Recently it has decided that there is a CO error. The generator can be started, but will shut-off after 5-10 seconds of operation. The generator exhaust is pointed toward open space and there is 15 foot of clearance around all sides of the generator. This has been well maintained and operated about 6 hours at a time once every 2 weeks. Looking to unplug the CO Sense so I can resume normal operations.
