Upgrade from my Fenix 3HR

I bought my Fenix 3HR in 2016 and it is still going strong. But recently I got a Insta360 X4 and there is a ConnectIQ app that provides some control of the camera from the Instinct 2 X Solar, so I upgraded. I love the solar charging. The monochrome screen nice and readable, even in bright sun. It is great that I can display the info I want: TOD, Speed, Miles completed, and Heart Rate, on one screen.

I love this watch

After more than a decade with Apple and Google Pixel watches, the Instinct 2x Solar is my favorite watch yet. It has everything I need and nothing I don't. As a thru-hiker, my favorite features are navigation, route tracking, flashlight, sleep tracking, sunrise/sunset, moon phases, compass, altimeter, and silent alarms. But the very best feature above them all is the battery life.

Great watch

First Garmin I have purchased. I bought it for mtb tracking and got so much more out of it. I have also already handed this watch a beating. It looks big and bulky but it's not too bad on my wrist. I also don't have an issue wearing it while I sleep. It truly is a part of me. Wicked happy I went with the solar. That is a big win for me as well!

Superb battery

Very satisfied with the battery and features. It's also easy navigation.

No text messages

Like the watch as a whole but for some reason no matter what I try my text messages won’t show up from my iPhone the phone calls and other notifications do. Not much online is any help as it seems everyone has the same issue.

Awesome Watch… except…

I bought this watch last August when I destroyed my Apple Watch… and I am happy that happened because I would honestly have to say that I love the Instinct 2X. It does everything I want it to do, plus it has extra features that have encouraged me to branch out and do more. Top 3 features: -Ability to record Multi-Sport activities. (Handy for a biathlon/triathlon or that ‘Memorial Day Murph’) -Strobe light for night runs. (for that matter, the flashlight is awesome as well..) -Multi-Band ...

Absolute Bomber of a Watch!

I recently upgraded to the Instinct 2X Solar watch and I couldn't be more pleased. The upgrade has given me much better analytics and the larger display provides me with more on-screen metrics. I also connected with Connect IQ and added some wickedly helpful and expansive watch faces. I highly recommend the upgrade!

Great but not perfect!

I'm still deciding whether to ship it back or keep it, as I can see the battery life is 20 days with my usage (daily plus a 1-hour hike), and the solar charger only adds 2% or less per hour.

Fantastic device

This is my second instinct 2x solar, bought the white model to go with the graphite model. I drive truck and ride mtn bikes on my off time. I am impressed with the length of time between charges. The torch lite is very useful at work and the fitness features are all I need for tracking my workouts. Compared to some of the other models the instinct seems to be quite the steal. Very happy, will probably purchase the red model soon!

Broke

It is way better then the original instinct solar. That being said they are producing a faulty watch the mine broke within 2 weeks yes under warranty but bought the Previous model due to my life's style. And I'm rough on things. The component that broke is the vibration motor it becomes an audible sound, not just vibration, It was able to break without me. Putting the watch in any tough conditions, which makes me worry that the next one's gonna break and where I spend money to buy quality. This ...

Nice Watch but...

It annoys me no end I had to buy a new version of the Instinct just to get what the first version should have been. Robbery they don't even give rebate or discount for previous owners of their prototype Instinct!

Simple to use

Love the watch. Just wish you could take calls on it.

Sucks

Worse harming I have ever had. The band has broke twice, It will not stay charged and the step count is so off that I don’t even use it.

Great GPS and sport watch

Only reason I didn't give it a 10, was that the menu options aren't real intuitive and if you don't use it often, can take a bit of exploring to find what you need. But hey, taking your time is what life in the outdoors is all about, so still gave it a 9.

Capable of more as I explore the watch. Instructions would have been helpful past quick start. The app isn't helping much when I use it. Being solar has increased the battery life and so far seems durable for farm life. The event monitor decided to send an alert while I was working, changed my alerts. It does work well, maybe too well. I am curious to see how it likes using hammers and post drivers. Overall, I am liking the change from fitbit.
