Better than my Fitbit

I've been loving my Garmin. It gives me so much information and details. Several folks on my crew have the same watch or a different Garmin.

Features I will Never Use But Happy So Far

I have had several FitBits, which usually only last about a year. Went for the more rugged and pricier Garmin in hopes that would last longer and inspire better efforts on my part to meet health goals. Like it so far with two exceptions: (1) many features I will likely never use or am too intimidated at this early stage to figure out, and (2) small screen that is difficult to read, especially for messages (making it less likely I will use this feature). Not disappointed overall but 2 issues ...

Somewhat disappointed

I like the look, color selections , and functions of my new Instinct 2S watch. And compared with the original Instinct watch, I especially like the improved readout. My only gripe is with the battery life..for the price point, it should be better. Yes, I know I could go with the solar edition but I find the readout to be a bit distorted compared to the non solar edition, especially looking at the watch from various angles.

not for me

Band was too small. The UI was clumsy and required too much user input. I tried the treadmill app and found that algorithm to not be function. Then I tried lap swimming. Again too much input is required to use routinely. And the algorithm is flawed, only counting about half my laps. The manual and UI call buttons by multiple names, which is very confusing. Overall, this was not the polished product I expected for the price.

Love!

I upgraded to Garmin after using every single other fitness wearable -- I've had 3 fitbit, an apple watch, I even had the nike band many years ago. I LOVE my Garmin. I originally got the Forerunner 245 with Music and I was very happy with it, but I'm not a triathlete. I loved the Running Training features, but I do so many other activities -- Trail Running, Rock Climbing, Tennis, Alpine touring and of course hiking whenever I can -- that the Forerunner put me into a little running corner. I feel...

Great, still getting used to the features.

This arrived June 24th, I have used it for walking, hiking, cycling, pool and open water swimming as well as the health features ( sleeping, heart etc ). But the main problem is the accurate recording of distance in the open water swimming, this works erratically or not at all. My swim partner using a garmin at the same time and it records with no problems at all.

Confusing

I struggle to make this work, save etc. I had hoped it would be user friendly, but not.

Complicated

I like what it does, but I find it difficult to use. Yes I have watched online, followed booklets, but still a guessing game.

No Nonsense Smart watch .

I wanted a smart watch i would not be fidgeting with all day and charging all the time . This fit the bill and better . Looks like an ordinary watch until i need it to be smart . I press the buttons only when i need something . I am not playing with it like a kid all the time . The metrics on the app are excellent , somethings are bit off . But i can live with it . I love my watch it's super light and it does not look like distractive shiny disc on my wrist . I wish i got the solar version...

Love the size!

This watch is incredibly robust and lightweight, I don't even notice it is on my wrist. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a durable watch for daily wear that is not cumbersome or annoying to have on your wrist all day.

Perfect!

It's much better than my previous Garmin watch (Forerunner 645 music). The display is clearer, more condensed and there are more customizable display options. The battery life is much longer, the navigation (GLONASS) is better for mountainous terrain and it offers more features for analysis.

Great all-around watch!

I have had my Instinct 2s - Standard Edition for about a month now! I love everything about it so far. I am still learning how to use different features, but that's to be expected. I LOVE the long battery life. The app is very easy to use and understand. The watch does way more than I even need but I love that I have the ability to do so much. It's been great to track my fitness endeavors. And honestly, I just love the fact that I can see the actual watch face to see the time!

Love this watch but some things could be better

First off, I love the function of the watch. Love being able to see steps, time, battery, elevation, etc in one face on the watch, or that I can change the watch face easily to increase size of time. It took me several days to go throught the 114 page owner's manual and picking/choosing things that were applicable to me for cycing only. I love the bluetooth downloads to Garmin Connect and showing all the data I can follow to better understand my body. What I don't like is the short band lengt...

Great Battery life

I brought my new watch a month ago and love the battery life . However, I don’t care for the strap length. I have a hard time getting it on. Just wished I had ordered the 44! This makes my 3rd Garmin.

Great features!

I like the health matrix and smartwatch capabilities. It’s comfortable and durable.
