I ran with the vivoactive 3, FR645, and FR745 in that order. Each watch was better than the last. The FR255 is a clear upgrade on all of them. The new hr sensor eliminated cadence lock. The battery lasts longer, and the HRV info is intriguing. I'm definitely pleased with this watch and glad i made the purchase.

Thanks but no thanks
Got it for Christmas and took it on a five mile jog and two mile swim - thanks but no thanks. I took it back to the store.

Difficult to use. After my run can’t figure out how to return to watch face time. Takes forever to figure out in a timely manner. There has to be a easier way than reading the 300 page owner manual!

Amazing device optimized for athletes
This watch was a worthwhile investment. It has me more connected and feeling more in control over my health and my performance as an athlete. I'm not a runner or a triathlete, and I will admit the device feels suited for distance and endurance athletes --I do almost none of the sort for my particular sport. However, it is perfectly suited for people in those competitions, and all it's features are designed with a sophisticated eye to aiding the recovering, training, and tracking athlete. I look ...

I don’t like it. I go back to use my Polar.

Taking it to another level!
I made the switch from a Samsung Galaxy smartwatch to the Forerunner 255. There are some things I miss about the Galaxy watch (love being able to make and take phone calls from my wrist like Dick Tracy), but for a data nerd like me, the Forerunner 255 is next level. I love all the display options during a run and really enjoy all the post-run info. Super customizable and the battery life is fantastic. During my last marathon, my phone died, but the watch held strong. I would definitely recommend...

An awesom completely capable smartwatch.
Recently, I purchased a Forerunner 255 Music. It is an awesome, easy-to-use, and very capable smartwatch. Its step counts were spot on. A big improvement from Fitbit and AmazFit. Unfortunately, I found that wearing it 7x24 did not work for me. I returned it and am planning to buy a tracker instead.

no music
I had a 245 music and was very happy with it. It broke and Garmin sent this 255 music. I have tried and tried to get it to play music thru my headphones. It will not work. I run alot and have not had my headphones working since I got this watch. Not happy.

Great easy watch
So many features that this watch can easily be used by many user groups. Serious trainers and beginners alike. No touch screen, which is perfect for those who run in wet climates. Not big and bulky like other styles.

Great Watch
The only drawback is I wish they had a really good user manual

My favorite watch
I used to be a loyal customer of Suunto watches (and I do still love them), but a friend of mine showed me the variety of challenges that Garmin offers and that piqued my interest. I love the app and I love this watch. The large watch face is perfect. The information that it tracks is incredible. Almost everything on this watch is customizable. It doesn't have the touchscreen function, but that doesn't bother me at all because the app is easier to use anyway. I would definitely get this watch ag...

Not that great
It's a great running watch, too much trouble to set up strength workouts. Really wish it had a generic strength training feature.

Being able to listen to music without phone on me.
I got this during Christmas. This is a great watch that has many features. The best being the ability to listen to music without a phone on me.

Garmin 255 music
Amazing first watch for my 11 year old son who runs cross country and track. Fits his small wrist and is not a "kids" watch. For serious runners.

Nice upgrade from mt forerunner 245 music
I decided to retire my old forerunner 245 music, it was not holding a charge and it was diffucult to charge, maybe the contacts were dirty or just wearing out. This watch is very similar, which is a good thing. I liked all the features, especially being able to download podcast which I love to listen to while running. I do still have trouble seeing the podcast on my watch while running but other than that no complaints. I don't pay attention to all the morning and evening reports. I know how I fe...

Useless
I bought this watch because of the features it has such as pulse ox and vo2 max sensors. Unfortunately the heart rate monitor barely works. During trail rides it constantly loses heart rate and if it does pick up a heart again it’s usually 30-40 bpm below my actually heart rate. Even during normal day to day use it struggles to monitor heart rate. The sleep feature and hrv is pointless as it doesn’t record sleep because the heart rate monitor doesn’t work. I tried resetting the watch back to fac...

Running/Sleeping
Fenix 6 Pro daily wear. FR255 for running and sleep metrics. GPS chipset superior to the F6Pro and more comfortable running and use during sleep.
