The Spray works great
The spray helps the film adhere to the window and allows you to easily scrape out any bubbles. I attempted this with a home-made concoction I found on line and that did not work nearly as well. Save yourself the hassle and buy the spray. If you already have a plastic scrapper and razor you might not need the entire kit, but definitely use the spray!

utility knife did not work
The blade was too small and not sharp enough. Left jagged edges. I would cut exact measurements with scissors than use the knife in the kit or a blade.

Would Not RecommendI found this product on a DIY video and was excited to see if it really worked. The product was easy to install, clung well to the windows with the applicator kit. The film significantly reduced the amount of heat coming through my back windows. I can’t believe I didn’t purchase this sooner. The application spray dried fast so move quickly. The cutter wore out quickly so have a back-up blade. The smoothing tool also worked as it should. Buy it! You wont regret it.
