This item is quite. It makes just the right sound to let you know it's chopping and when it's finished. I only rated it a 4 because I have not used it a lot, about 6 times within a month. But so far I have not had any problems.

Lasted only 2.5 years
I changed my old device after five years of use. I bought the same brand an model, GE GFC320N, expecting to have it for another five years but it only lasted 2.5 years. I bought it again just because I am too busy to make the piping changes to replace this product for another brand. However, if this one doesn't last at least five years it will be the last product that I will buy from GE.

Would RecommendThis updated model for the 320F I had for 15 years; seems to be just as good. Time will tell of course. Install was very easy after watching a how to video. It took me just under an hour, but if i did this regularly I'd say 30-45min install as long as pbc pipes are in good condition, which i did remove and cleaned for good measure. Keep in mind you will have to reuse power chord from old disposal or buy new, and reuse insert ring for wiring to go through.
