Would RecommendI used this lava rock on top of drainage rock for my outdoor, in-ground firepit. The sizes of the rocks varies so it's easy to tamp them down to level the decorative blocks around the fire ring. With the lava rock inside a fire pit you won't have to worry about them popping when they get hot from the fire because they will absorb the heat.
