Would RecommendThe light is decently bright, but it's not quite as red as I'd hoped (less fire engine red and more weathered brick, and less red than the box makes it look). Holding a CD up to diffract the light confirms it shines not only in the red range but strongly into orange and yellow, and even a little green. So for a generic red light you should be fine, but this won't probably work for your Christmas or Valentine's Day decorations.

medium brightness red light for colored displays
the bulb is about as bright as 40 or 60 watt bulb it works for doing colored reflector lights to do decorations, we set up Halloween flame behind curtain with red and orange bulbs and a small fan moving curtain.
