Plastic Socket
Would RecommendBought this socket to replace my old broken one, this was plastic. Other then I had to rewire it was easy and light weight to install.

Would RecommendSimple install. Great for basements and closets and pantries and such. Use LED bulbs and you’ll never have to worry about the pull string getting too hot.

Would RecommendThis model has the exact same socket switch that's in the porcelain model so operational life should be the same. I found the plastic to be substantial and easy to work with. The only difficulty was opening the optional mounting screw locations. The directions said to "break" them open but I had to use a drill and Dremel tool to grind out the openings.
