Finally!!!

Finally Dremel makes a better mousetrap!!! the old style of this was horrible to get new sanding barrels on. Love this new design. Now if they would only make a 1/4" version.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am in love with these!!! I suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome and fibromyalgia. Before I had to battle to change my disc or my cutters I no longer had to worry about that I was able to get them on and off easily which is a godsend and I know my husband is very thankful cuz I'm no longer hollering for him to help me. I definitely recommend for anyone who's got a couple tunnel or arthritis who doesn't want to rely on someone else

great idea but it needs to be reworked

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] honestly this thing could be a really awesome timesaver. the amount of time you could save over changing bands on the traditional drum mandrel with the screw in the top to tighten the bands is definitely woerth paying whatever extra this mandrel costs. Problem is they only hold the sanding band securely for a few minutes before the bands stretch and then you hafta put them on the trditional drum mandrel anyway. i wish theyd figure out how t...

Great jobs done with it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the mandrel about 2-3 hours a day on 4 days a week. It is great and helps me keeping working with easy switching to a new sander.

So easy to change bands

Easy to change out sanding drums!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the convenience of this mandrel. It makes switching grits so quick and easy. Plus it holds tight and doesn't get warm and loosen its grip on the sanding drum after a few mins. I hope that someday there will be a small version of this as well for the smaller diameter sanding drums. Great product for sure.

Good fit and good price

This item fit perfectly, which is what you want, as the bit is spinning at a high speed and if not fastened properly will slip.

dangerous garbage

as soon as these warm up a little they walk and fly off the end. I burned my finger and sent a couple across the garage before I gave up on it

Buy it at Lowe's and they always carry the parts.

Needed 1/2" sander for my dremel that I misplaced and they had it right in stock.

Utterly useless, don't waste your money.

Like others here, I bought this desoite the negative reviews thinking it can't be that bad> I have bought tools before that just need to be fitted correctly. I had exactly the same problems as many others here,. The sanding bit keeps riding up and coming off. I went back to the old tool with the screw and the washer. Some people clearly had some success with their tool, so it is possible manufacturinbg variations are the cause. I made sure to by genusine dremel sanding bits as well.

Very useful. An improvement over the earlier models that required use of a screwdriver.

I attempted to use it to expand an opening in a piece of wood, but the grit on the sandpaper did not stay on long enough to get the job done.

Best quick swap design yet

This is by far the easiest that swapping out sanding heads has ever been! Whether due to a worn head or need to change grit, it is easily achieved within seconds.
