Better than expected but this is DeWalt after all!

Let me first say I am no fanboy of DeWalt, since in the past I have owned two sets both regular nicad versions of their 5 pc kits. They performed admirably but their batteries tended to overheat and would take forever to cool down and recharge, leaving you to resort to buying more batteries, having 8 in all at over 100 bucks a piece is ridiculous and this just so that I could keep working. This drill is by far the best drill I have ever owned. The long battery life is perfect with plenty of power.

The best tool kit purchase by far. Batteries last, (depend on the tool). Circular saw is by far better than my last two that I have owened. 14 and 18 volt. LED light (wow) bright, cut throu the darkness. impact driver is a new tool for me, it has taken the lead over the drill/driver/hamerdrill. all in all the 20Volt max 5 kit rocks

Amazing Product

I have owned other battery powered products before but they are junk compare to this kit. I just want to say every piece of equipment in this kit works perfect and they are just as powerful as corded ones. I totally recommend this to everyone. I also have other 20V DEWALT products that are not included in this kit and I recommend every one of them.

Well worth money

Well worth every dollar. Bought it mostly just for the sawzall but figured I'd be able to use everything in the kit. Haven't ran into 1 thing that couldn't be cut. Good battery life. Ridiculous power Hammer drill also great. Haven't used circular saw impact driver good power for its size and LED lights are great addition to the driver

Over priced and very underwhelming

I purchased my original kit in June of 2012, my first problem with this kit was with the circular saw which stopped functioning after the first non-aggressive use. I took the the whole kit back and Lowes exchanged the entire kit to their credit. During the month of December both my drill and reciprocating saw stopped working. Dewalt went over the line with the 20V set

Great combo kit, the hammer drill is super fast, the drill is way to fast for me, the saw cuts great and it is very strong, sawzall rocuks and my favorite was the light, I believe is a xenon light and its just crazy, my kids wanted to play with the light all day, the design of these tools make you feel like a pro, the fit on your hands so comfortable to do the job and they have like rubber all around them for protection, It was worthed to spend over $500, I dont regret it, the only thing I dont ...

I was at the Roanoke store this past weekend and purchased this kit. The DeWalt vendor had a table set up doing demonstrations of this kit. I had no intentions of buying anything this expensive but after the rep. showed me the features/benefits I ended up buying it for my husband. I already gave the kit to my husband and he couldn't be happier.

Great quality product!

This is a great tool kit. It is a bit on the pricey side but with the quality ( and the name on the tools ) you get what you pay for.

Power

Batteries are long lasting and have a lot of power. Every tool works great. Saw cut through everything clean, even tile. Bright flashlight. Love the adjustable head on the flashlight. Great bargain when buying the combo kit. I used every tool and love them.

You can't go wrong with DeWalt

I upgraded from a mid grade 18 volt set to the 20 volt cordless DeWalt set. WOW, what a difference. The power is immediately apparent. The tools are considerably lighter. And best of all, the battery last 2-3 times longer.

Great Set! Dewalt never ceases to impress!

I have had a couple of the 18 volt Dewalt Hammer drills with the XRP packs in the past that I used commercially every day to drill in every type of material and drilling hundreds of holes and driving hundreds of screws as a CATV installer and the only problem I ever encountered is I had a battery pack fail on my second one and it caused the drill to start to smoke and not turn off. This is a great product, However for this kit it should come with, three (3) chargers and four (4) batteries, Also for the price a hard case should be included.

The 5-Tool 20-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Combo Kit was a purchase I made carefully to replace other products that were frustrating to work with. get makita or milwaukee

i have owned all major brands of cordless.and as being an expert carpenter and compared kits.this is the worst.plastic saw guards.low powered saws.hammerdrill worst i ever used.this is a $300 kit at best. again dewalt dissapoints.never again will i own a dewalt.i have the new makita xlt kit and milwaukee m18 kit.these are far superior kits. dont waste your money

Mixed Feelings

I am an electrician and use my tools quite often, so I require them to be able to handle the punishment that they will be put through on a daily basis. The hammer drill and and impact driver are both excellent quality and both have a tremendous amount of power. I was howerever disappointed in the saws. This is my first Dewalt purchase and won't be my last. I figured that if I am going to spend money on cordless power tools, I might as well buy the best. Went to a few stores and tested their floor models but nothing came close to the quality of Dewalt.
