Solid product but pricey

Cons: Manual could have provided more and better information for setting up and/or operating. Lucky for the Internet and youtube. Also, not packaged with a router bit which could have been advertised so as to not have to come back to buy one later on. Pros: smooth to operate and powerful. makes cleans cuts, and is more precise when using a guide (also sold separately). Love the package of having the plunge kit as well. Bag keeps things organized.

Missing parts

The device work great however was missing a key part

DeWalt router combo set

Bairly used it, but like in integrated dust collection feature. I bought it after using a DeWalt palm router, in which depth of cut adjustment is much easier than the Bosch router that I have used for many years. Wish the button to lock the spindle was a little easier to use.

Critical No’s, but some Goods.

Decent power. Nice speed control. Holds 1/2 &1/4 inch shanks. Extremely hot after minutes of low-speed average use. Have used for 90mins in aggregate but waited too long and warranty period is over. Looking for a different Router Brand altogether. It works, but has significant disadvantages. Not recommended.

Meh

Power is decent, versatility in shank-size is nice, but the depth ring is plastic and the sharp aluminum edges damage when rotated. The adjustment ring should be made of metal, period.

Good, not great

As a big DeWalt user, I still find this tool a bit limited and overpriced. It still runs smooth and is great quality. I also own the comparable Skil router which isn't quite as good in quality, but I would still recommend it for the lights and all the accessories that should come standard with any router. Fixed Base Problems

I don't like giving bad reviews and personally I like Dewalt tools. However, from day one, the motor gets stuck in the base if I'm not extremely careful when sliding it into position. There are two small indexing pins that are supposed to keep it aligned , but they often get stuck in the spiral grooves and I almost couldn't get it unstuck a couple of times. Also, if the router bit is a little longer and I want to do a shallow cut, the base kicks over at a slight angle and gets stuck again. Very ...
