What Customers Are Saying

The DAP Window Glazing Compound has received mixed reviews. Some users found it easy to apply and effective at sealing and repairing windows, with the product drying and curing well. However, others reported issues with the compound being too thin, runny, or difficult to work with, leading to poor adhesion and an uneven finish. The product's performance also seemed inconsistent, with some batches performing better than others.

Sticky

Would Recommend

Let me begin by saying I am a novice at window glazing, but handy nonetheless. I live in Columbia SC where the slogan is famously hot. And often with the heat is very high humidity. I purchased this product after a friend suggested it. I was shocked at how easy it was to apply, but must say it is extremely sticky. I am not sure if its due to the heat and humidity or this is typical for the product, but it was not fun getting the smudges off the windows that are going to happen regardless of how ...

Needs a cap!

Would Recommend

Only real issue is there is no cap to seal the spout once opened. I did not use all the glaze and hope my method for sealing works. A cap like other caulking compounds would be helpful.

It's now been 3 weeks since I applied this to 2 interior windows and it's still not dry enough to paint and it's holding up my remodel to no end. DAP Rep...don't reply to this with one of your canned replies. If this had been an exterior installation I would be in terrible trouble in the humid, rainy South.

Watery messy product

Would Not Recommend

Fortunately it can be returned. Which I did and bought the putty type product by the same company. I have realized that I won't become a window replacement specialist anytime soon but the second purchase did it's job. If you can afford to hire someone to replace your window, do it! I can build, tile, plumb, wire and some other things but I really suck at window glazing.

Great glazing, dries up a little if you keep it for a while, maybe best to wrap it in some clear foil. Besides that really really awesome!!! Fixed all my windows that had lost their glazing over the last century

Good glaze

Would Recommend

Easy to work with and remains soft in container for years. Recently repurchased - used previous container to repair old wood windows periodically for ~5 years and the glaze worked wonderfully.

Wate of time.

I have used this glazing a long time ago without issue. Decided to glaze a few windows this summer vs. doing replacements. This was a mistake. The glazing never dries. Over two months in dry summer conditions and it still is very soft to the touch and is unpaintable. Oil primer just peels right off. A lot of hours went into doing over 100 panes - all wasted. The recipe must have changed. Should have just replaced the windows instead of investing all that time in this dap product.

sags

Would Not Recommend

I used this product to glaze a 20 x 24" window pane last fall. For a first time user of this product, it came out looking good. BUT, this spring when I went out to paint the glazing l saw that it had ripples. The glazing had sagged into wave like ripples and looks terrible. I don't know if the tube I bought was defective or the formula is not thick enough to hold its shape. Based on my experience I would not recommend this product. I would stay with the glazing sold in a tub.

First timeer

Would Recommend

This is the first time I have used any glazing compound so I have nothing to compare it to. I did like that it was easy to work with following YouTube glazing compound methods. Easy to apply, trim and clean up. Very forgiving of you mess it up. It does seem to take forever to dry, estimated ten days in label
