Coleman 639C kerosene model
Would RecommendI’m a Coleman collector and restore of Coleman lanterns I wanted one of these new 639C models that burn kerosene to use also for my collection how come Mann keeps making these liquid fuel lanterns there’s definitely a niche out there still for them they are really nice. Leonard Coleman makes good product. Still glad to see they do.

Excellent light and excellent source of heat
I really wish that they would bring these back to the store shelves for emergency situations like if power outages and exceptional for camping and also put more of a security guard around the glass in case it would tip over

Nice bright lantern
Would RecommendWell made, very bright kerosene lantern. Don’t use the Coleman 21 mantles that come with it. It will blow holes in them. Use peerless mantles.

It's not bad built for these days and times but it
I use this in the north country once in a while. I'll put it in my pickup truck without me. In it to preheat the cab and defrost the windshield, then I take it out and start the truck up and it's nice and warm in there and ventilated a little bit, but it really doesn't smell much at all, especially if you run clean burn instead of kerosene from the pump. God bless everyone.

In times os good and bad.
Would RecommendI’ve owned many products from Coleman, always been intrigued with the lanterns since my first encounter camping as a youngster with family. Living in Florida most of my life hurricanes have been a constant reminder the need for a reliable light source, always used white gas lanterns as a source of light from the beginning. Fuel is always an issue for long term storage, degradation over time has been a problem for me. Kerosene turned out to be the answer I was looking for. Researching blogs led ...

A new old friend
I got my new coleman lantern. latest in a string of Coleman lanterns I have owned. My old one is due for some TLC so I made that an excuse for a new one. Kerosene makes sense since I keep it around for emergency heat. It arrived in one piece so I did the usual setup, filled it and put some alcohol in the cup. These days I live in a small city, so I didn't have a dozen pair of coyote eyes watching. It lit the first time without the theatrics of the gas jobs and settled into the old familiar hiss....

A Rugged, Bright, and Reliable Lantern
Would RecommendThis lantern is a beast! The Coleman 639C puts out a ton of light—easily enough to light up a whole campsite, backyard, or even a good-sized room during a power outage. The glow is bright, steady, and white, so it actually feels like daylight compared to smaller lanterns. Build quality is excellent. It feels heavy-duty and solid, not like the flimsy stuff you see today. With a little care, I can easily see this lasting for decades, much like other Coleman lanterns I own. One thing worth me...

The perfect lantern for camping
Perfect low liner for the campsite very good safety fit features to make sure nothing gets caught on fire or combust. The brightness is really great and which is awesome. The durability of this thing is great, especially because it’s taking a few falls portability. Also great in the fuel efficiency level Pretty good for what it is.

The Goat
The only camping lantern. These are the best and the brightest. However changing the fabric inside is toxic and you need to do so carefully! They also can start fires if knocked over and land in grass so please be careful when setting these up as well as using!
